Due to unforeseen delays, Tea in Pajamas is not yet ready for a Christmas launch. In truth, I had underestimated the amount of work and time involved in the entire editorial and production process (especially while juggling a full-time job and two kids). We aren’t far from a finished product that I’m happy with, and so I have marked Spring 2015 (the first quarter) as the release date for the paperback, to be followed by an ebook.
In the meantime, I’ve been fiddling around with the idea of a book trailer. With zero video production skills and being far from what most people consider computer savvy, this has been quite an endeavor in trial-and-error (though mostly error). I was told, however, that since I use an iMac, iMovie is supposedly a great tool at my disposal for this very purpose. But for the life of me, even after watching something like six YouTube tutorials, my foray into it has yielded results that are at best cheesy, and at worst horrifying. So thankfully, I discovered an online service called Animoto which, at a price, enables me to ‘produce’ a book trailer closer to what I envisioned and less like a bunch of images crammed into a template resembling a straight-to-video horror flick.
Here’s the first cut—most images are still sketches, to be substituted with actual versions in the final cut.
Hope you enjoy it, and have a happy and blessed Christmas.
This looks wonderful 🙂 And so are you for sharing with us your whole process! I can’t wait to see the finished product. Merry Christmas!
